UNDATED (AP) _ Oklahoma's roads and highways are a bit safer this year.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says fewer motorists have died in highway mishaps than during the same period last year.
Troopers say a total of 671 people have died in collisions on state roads and highways so far this year. That's slightly lower than the 694 people who were killed during the same period last year.
The patrol says traffic crashes have killed 43 people so far this month. A total of 30 people were killed in highway mishaps during the same period in November 2004.
