Sand Springs started demolition Tuesday on the site of a Vision 2025 project.

Earlier this month, the News on 6 explained the city's plan to clear a run down neighborhood for redevelopment. Demolition started Tuesday with a small home that had been vacant on West Pecan.

Dozens of other homes, several businesses and two churches will also be bulldozed.

The land is being purchased with $14.5-million from the Vision 2025 tax.
