MURFESSSBORO, Ark. (AP) -- An Oklahoma man has been convicted of two murders and sentenced to die for each.

Mickey David Thomas was convicted this week of killing Mona Lee Shelton and Dona Marie Cary on June 14th, 2004. The women were shot and killed at a DeQueen, Arkansas monument company.

Thomas told the Arkansas State Police he stumbled upon the bodies. The jury recommended he die by lethal injection for each slaying.

A judge officially handed down the two sentences Wednesday.

Thomas is also accused of killing Geraldine Jones of Broken Arrow just two days before the Arkansas murders.

Officials say Jones told them that he choked the woman to death with a belt at her home.

He says he was a customer at her garage sale and followed her into her house when she went inside to get an item he inquired about.

McCurtain County District Attorney Virginia Sanders says she won't pursue a second death sentence because of Thomas' capital sentence in Arkansas.
