A federal judge in Tulsa has awarded an additional $52,000 to foreign workers who accused a Tulsa factory of treating them like slaves.
The judge revised her verdict to include emotional distress suffered by workers at the John Pickle Company.
The lawsuit claimed the workers were lured from India in 2001 with the promise of high-paying jobs and the chance to stay in the United States.
If everything stands, the 52 workers who filed the lawsuit would get $21,000 each.
The company has since closed.
