TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) _ A planned meeting between Attorney General Drew Edmondson and members of the Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission is being canceled.
Edmondson has said the private meeting would be to give commissioners an update on the state's lawsuit against poultry producers who are accused of polluting Oklahoma streams and rivers.
Poultry industry officials argued that the private meeting would violate Oklahoma's Open Meeting Act and Scenic Rivers Commissioner Rick Stubblefield agrees although Edmondson's office disagrees.
Rivers Commission Administrator Ed Fite says the issue will be placed on another meeting's agenda, most likely in August.
