STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- A 25-year-old Oklahoma City man driving a stolen fire department SUV the wrong way on the Cimarron Turnpike is dead after crashing head-on into a pickup truck early Friday morning.
The driver of the pickup, 35-year-old Robert Fisher of Cleveland, is hospitalized in Tulsa in critical condition.
Authorities say Brandon Shearer stole the SUV in Perry about 3:30 AM Friday and was being chased by police when he went east in the westbound lanes of the turnpike.
Authorities say speeds reached 110 miles per hour during the 33 mile chase when the SUV slammed head-on into the other truck near State Highway 18 in Pawnee County.
