SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) -- Former Creek County judge Donald Thompson is released Friday on $75,000 bond following his conviction on four felony counts of indecent exposure while presiding over trials in 2002 and 2003.
A jury deliberated for five-and-a-half hours Thursday before returning a guilty verdict. The jury recommended one year imprisonment and a $10,000 fine for each count. Special judge C- Allen McCall set a sentencing hearing for August 14th in Bristow.
Thompson was held in Creek County jail overnight. Friends and family members were working on arranging his release Friday morning, but he wasn't released until about 2 PM.
During the next six weeks, representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections will conduct a pre-sentence investigation. This investigation will be presented at the August 14th hearing.
