A Tulsa carjacking victim is waking up at home, after more than a week in the hospital.
Chandala spent 10 days in the Hillcrest Hospital burn unit after a man with a knife carjacked her at a car wash near 11th and Pittsburgh. When he refused to let her go, she decided to jump out of the moving vehicle.
The decision saved her life. But it ripped the skin off her arms, legs and face. "I unlocked the door, tried to jump, half my body out already. He turned and sees me and grabbed my hair and hit more gas and goes faster. After that, I don't know nothing."
Chandala's 2004, black Toyota Rav4 is still missing. It has an Oklahoma tag number of 044-ZGK.
Anyone with information about this case can call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.
