OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The state unemployment rate is down according to figures released Wednesday by the state employment security commission.

The numbers show the jobless rate fell 3/10ths of one percent in February to 4.1 percent statewide.

Employment Commission economist Lynn Gray says when season factors are considered the unemployment rate is 3.6 percent and unemployment is at its lowest level since May 2001.

The highest unemployment rate in the state was 6.5 percent out of work in McCurtain County while the lowest rate is 2.8 percent in Woodward County.

In the state's three metro areas the unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in the Oklahoma City area, 3.9 percent in the Tulsa metro and 4.5 percent in the Lawton metro area.
