DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) -- Houston-based energy company Halliburton is returning to its Oklahoma roots for its annual shareholders meeting this year.

The meeting will be held in Duncan in May.

Halliburton was founded in Duncan more than 80 years ago and moved its corporate headquarters to Dallas in 1961, then to Houston in 2003. The company continued to hold shareholders meetings in Duncan until 1972.

This year's meeting in Duncan is also expected to bring protesters who say Halliburton used inside influence with the Bush Administration to profit on the war on terror.

Vice President Dick Cheney headed Halliburton from 1995 until 2000 when he became President Bush's running mate.

Halliburton still has about three-thousand employees in Oklahoma and more than 2,200 in Duncan.
