Several municipalities have declared a state of emergency is response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
President Donald Trump declared a national emergency Friday, March 13. On Monday the White House urged Americans to stay home and avoid gatherings of more than ten people.
Governor Kevin Stitt declared a state of emergencies for all 77 Oklahoma counties Sunday.
“It is now necessary to provide for the rendering of mutual assistance among the State and political subdivisions of the State and to cooperate with the Federal government with respect to carrying out emergency functions during the continuance of the State emergency pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Emergency Management Act of 2003," Stitt said.
Multiple state counties and cities in the metro also declared a state of emergency Monday. Those municipalities include:
Oklahoma City
Enid (in effect through April 13)
Pottawatomie County
Custer County
Midwest City (in effect until April 12)
Prague (in effect through April 15)
Moore
Shawnee
Cushing
Tecumseh
Yukon
Enid
Guthrie
Bethany
El Reno
Norman
Moore
Stillwater
Del City
Edmond
Ponca City
Oklahoma County
