OSDH Reports 99 New Coronavirus Cases In Oklahoma; 2 More Virus-Related Deaths

Two more virus-related deaths and 99 more confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in Oklahoma since Saturday, according to daily numbers released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

A total of 4,589 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and a total of 272 virus-related deaths have been reported, the state health department said Friday.

3,204 Oklahomans have recovered from the virus up 50 from Saturday's report.

On April 28, Gov. Kevin Stitt said anyone who wished to take a COVID-19 test could do so even if they are not presenting symptoms.

On April 22, Stitt introduced his multi-phase plan for reopening the state beginning with plans to reopen personal care businesses on Friday by appointment only.

Oklahoma City and Tulsa started reopening on Friday, May 1, after they allowed their shelter in place orders expire.

Stitt issued an executive order April 2 declaring a health emergency in all 77 Oklahoma counties.

The state health department advises anyone with COVID-19 symptoms such as shortness of breath, fever or coughing to stay home and limit person-to-person engagement.
