Family members and friends honored the lives of 3-year-old Miracle Crook and 2-year-old Tony Crook on Saturday morning.
The two children were missing in May for six days before authorities found Miracle Crook on May 26 in the Verdigris River in Muskogee County. Tony Crook was discovered May 27 in Bird Creek.
The children’s search wrapped up a multi-day, multi-agency effort that spanned multiple counties.
The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department attended the service at Antioch Baptist Church to provide security and assist with parking as family members and friends filled the church to remember the two toddlers.
The family set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses but said they still haven't raised enough money to have their headstones completely covered.
After the memorial service, the two toddlers were buried at the Green Acres Cemetery.
The toddlers’ biological mother, Donisha Willis, is currently in the Tulsa County Jail on $500,000 bond. Willis is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and assault and battery on a police officer.
Police said she was with the children when they were last seen. Willis is due in court July 16 for her preliminary hearing.
