Oklahoma Business Honored At Annual 'Spirit Of America' Ceremony In DC

An Oklahoma business was front and center at the White House today as President Trump showcased 'Made in America' products and entrepreneurs.

The annual showcase typically is representative of all 50 states in some way, but due to COVID-19, Oklahoma was one of only 8 states represented by a little business that's helping veterans.

Chad Watts is not a veteran but grew up across from Tinker Air Force Base, worked for years at the VA hospital, and wanted to help the many veterans who are struggling.

Watts founded Stars and Stripes Coffee, a company that allows veterans to build their own businesses with other veterans.

"I found that there wasn't a lot of opportunity for veterans to get together, so I thought what if there was a way to get them together, I'm a sales guy we can build a salesforce completely comprised of veterans," said Watts.

Watts says scars and stripes has been up and running for a year and a half now, he says so far 300 veterans from more than 40 states have joined the team, and the business is profitable.
