Bixby Public Schools is having a special board meeting Monday night to discuss options for the next school year.

The school district sent a letter to parents talking about its distance learning options last week which also includes a full-time virtual school called Spartan Connection Academy.

Now, the virtual academy is just one of the enrollment options for families in grades K-12. Administrators say this option offers families the flexibility of a full-time online learning platform, paired with the familiar face of a Bixby teacher.

They say as much as they hope to be back in school this fall, they want to be planning for all options at this point.

The deadline to enroll in the virtual academy is Monday, July 27th but the district says they will be providing a 24-hour grace period following the meeting Monday night for families to make their enrollment option decision.

The letter that went home to parents says they plan to provide a final decision about the start of school no later than July 30th which is on Thursday.

Monday's meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and will be live-streamed but they say community members can also attend in person.

The district says details for the live stream of the meeting will be posted to their Facebook page.
