Deputies: Man Arrested After Attempt To Steal Truck, Owner Helped Chase Him Down

Wagoner County Deputies said a man who tried to steal a pickup truck was caught, because the truck’s owner helped to chase him down.

Officials said John Naylor drove off in a pickup truck that the victim had parked outside his home in Broken Arrow. They said the victim and his wife hopped in another vehicle and chased him, but Naylor hit their vehicle and then got out of the truck to run.

Deputies said the victim chased Naylor and fired a shot to the ground to get him to stop until deputies could arrive.

Sheriff Chris Elliot said it’s not a good idea to shoot a gun unless your own life is in danger.

Deputies said Naylor had meth on him. He is now in the Wagoner County Jail.
