Tulsa Public Schools have released plans to keep athletes and spectators safe during COVID-19.

Fans will see those changes starting with Tulsa’s all-city preview matches Thursday.

In addition to 50 percent capacity at outdoor stadium, the district said masks will be required inside the stadium. In fact, athletic administrators will meet with campus police to talk about how they’ll enforce that.

Executive director of athletics, Gil Cloud said in the last couple of days they’ve decided that gaitors will not count as a mask.

“The research as recent as last week indicates gaitors are not near the protection that a face mask would be,” said Cloud.

The district said all food at the concession stands will be prepackaged and drinks will be bottled.

The first games are scheduled for next Friday.
