The City of Tulsa says it will host school support groups specifically for the children of essential city employees, like police and firefighters.

Tulsa officials says the goal is to keep those city workers on the job while their kids are learning.

They say small groups of about 10 students will meet with teaching aides in city parks and they’ll be able to work on their distance learning material while using the city’s WiFi.

Masks and temperature checks will be required in these pods.

Mayor G.T. Bynum says they’re now looking for adults who want to help out.

“We need...sizes small,” Mayor Bynum said.

The positions pay $12 dollars an hour.
