Convicted Felon Arrested, Suspected Of Breaking Into Home, Trying To Steal Car

A convicted felon is back in jail suspected of breaking into a home and trying to steal another person’s car.

Police said Gary Allen tried to steal a car Tuesday morning near 36th Street North and M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard. Witnesses told police they tried to hold him until officers arrived, but he got away.

Police later got a burglary call nearby. A woman told police a man broke into her home and her grandson caught him, holding him at gunpoint in the backyard.

Police said Allen has several prior felony convictions for the same crimes.
