This gained steam Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m., when the Milwaukee Bucks did not come onto the court for the start of their game against the Orlando Magic. That game was quickly postponed and the Thunder soon followed.

The OKC Thunder made a statement saying "The Thunder respects and supports our players peacefully bringing awareness to the critical issues happening in our country. Our organization will continue to work relentlessly to create meaningful change."

Players from across the NBA, WNBA, MLB and the MLS have said they will not play Wednesday in protest.

The NBA has now postponed all games for Wednesday and there is growing momentum to do the same for Thursday's scheduled games as well.
