Bixby hasn't lost a game since 2018 and will face Jenks Friday night.

The Spartans had no problems against the Trojans last year winning 57 to 7, however new faces represent both teams.

Winners of 26 straight, the Bixby Spartans have gotten used to being on the right side of the scoreboard. Of those 26, last year’s victory against Jenks is the one that Coach Lorne Montgomery brings up to motivate his team.

"They have been a benchmark for our program for a long time we have only beat them two times in the last 42, 43 years,” Montgomery said. “Hopefully we have narrowed the gap a little bit and hopefully we continue to narrow the gap a little bit."

Bixby's offense leadership with Braylin Presley has been special. The junior had 4 touchdowns against Union Last week and just recently earned a power five scholarship to Kansas.

"I tell them pick their heads up when they are down just a little thing that always makes things better as a team,” Presley said.

That leadership role is something that Presley takes with him every time he suits up to play.

"We have sacrifice, discipline, integrity and encourage,” Presley said.

For Bixby and Jenks, both teams have combined to win nine state titles in the past decade. Regardless of classifications, it’s a game that Presley has had marked on his calendar.

“We may be 6A-2, we can still play with anyone in the state, whether its Union, Jenks or whoever,” Presley said. “Treat every game like it’s your last.”
