Tulsa police say a man is in custody after leading police, Highway Patrol, and Tulsa County Deputies on a chase overnight.

According to TPD, John Naylor and several other people were spray painting a truck near 33rd West Avenue and 61st St. When officers arrived they say Naylor took off in a vehicle, leading police on a chase through Tulsa and Creek County. Police say Naylor hit stop sticks along the way and eventually ditched the truck on the south side of I-44.

Officers eventually caught him on the North side of of highway near Sapulpa.

"After he stopped and bailed he ran across the highway and which presented a little bit of a safety issue for the officers," said TPD Sgt. Brad Staggs.

Naylor is now in the Tulsa County Jail on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, eluding, and several other charges.
