Drive-thru voting registration stands were set up throughout Tulsa Tuesday by different organizations for National Voter Registration Day, all working to ensure people are registered to vote.
"This is a great opportunity to stand up and choose, [it’s] your opportunity to exercise your constitutional right," said volunteer Angela Hardman.
Angela Hardman was volunteering at the League of Women voters event and said it's important to prepare for election day by making sure you are signed up to vote.
"One of the things that we can do, that we have the power to do is to make sure in advance that we're registered,” Hardman said. “That we have all our documents in advance so that on Election Day or if you're voting by absentee ballot or early voting, that everything is in order.”
Hardman said she wants to encourage young voters that their votes count too in the upcoming election.
"Why shouldn't you exercise that right, why shouldn't you choose what comes next, this is your opportunity to shape your future," Hardman said.
Harold Morgan set up a registration stand at Lewis and Admiral in Midtown Tulsa. He said it's our right as Americans to cast a ballot in the upcoming election.
"I'm hoping that all Americans realize what a role they play in making this election and the next four years some of the best that could be," Morgan said.
While the rain did impact the turnout at Morgan's stand, he said he hopes people still saw him and remember to register to vote.
"If I don't get any registrations, I still feel like I do a benefit of being here and being seen," Morgan said.
The deadline to register to vote in Oklahoma is October 9.
