Oklahoma Blood Institute In Critical Need Of Convalescent Plasma Donors

The Oklahoma Blood Institute said Convalescent Plasma Donors are critically needed amidst increasing statewide hospitalizations.

OBI officials said they sent 99 units of the convalescent plasma to hospitals on Thursday, the largest single-day usage since the pandemic began.

According to OBI the need is putting pressure on the already struggling system.

A single plasma donation can provide transfusions for up to four COVID-19 patients, OBI officials said.
