Pryor and Sapulpa meet in a district 5A-4 showdown in our Tulsa Tech Game of the week, as the Chieftains are going for their third straight win.

"Don't try and do too much, just do your job, read your keys and do what you’re supposed to do,” Sapulpa Head Coach Roberts Borgstadt said.

As the Chieftains prepare to face Pryor for the first time in 41 years, Sapulpa will be looking to knock off a Tiger team with just one loss on the year.

Pryor quarterback Ben Ward has 26 touchdowns so far this season and shutting him down is goal number one for Borgstadt.

"Their offense is really good, their quarterback is really good. He can spin it, he can run it, he is the guy we have to stop,” Borgstadt said. “If we can control him then we have a great chance of winning the game.”

Having quality players will separate you in the chase for a state title. Borgstadt doesn't have to look to far to find that player. Senior runningback Te'Zohn Taft has been a leader in all the phases for the Chieftains.

"He gets just as excited when he scores when somebody else does,” Borgstadt said. “He just likes us having success it’s about us."

“When they are doing good it makes me feel good because I think they have a lot of confidence in themselves, so I try and build up them a lot,” Taft said.

Taft has 10 rushing touchdowns this year and is embracing the target on his back from opposing teams.

"I love the pressure,” Taft said. “Everybody got their eyes on me and it just helps and opens everything else up for my teammates that are talented as me."
