Here’s a look at six things to know before you set your alarm for Wednesday.
.NEW REPRESENTATIVES: The representatives-elect of the 58th Oklahoma legislature will take their oaths of office Wednesday at 10 a.m. There’s a ceremonial service first, then because of construction at the state capitol, the official oath of office will happen in small groups to allow for social distancing.
.HONORING OUR VETERANS: Wednesday is Veterans Day and City and County offices will be closed in observance. Banks will also be closed Wednesday.
.PARADE ROUTE: There are parades happening across Green Country, including the Tulsa Veterans Parade. It starts at 11 a.m. at VFW Post 577 on 6th street downtown.
.FREE FOOD DEALS: As for Veterans Day deals, there are a lot of them, including a free taco and drink at Torchy’s in Tulsa’s Brookside. Starbucks, Wendy’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Outback Steakhouse and many more are all offering free deals as well.
.GETTING GROCERIES: Food On The Move is hosting another drive-thru food giveaway. It’s from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Turley Assembly of God. Those in need can get a week’s worth of groceries.
.THE BIGGEST STAGE: It’s Country Music’s Biggest night and this year Reba McEntire & Darius Rucker will host the 54th annual Country Music Association Awards.
