First responders from four counties came together in Bartlesville Thursday to support a COVID-19 patient at Jane Philips Medical Center.

Dozens of emergency vehicles drove down the street in front of the hospital as a show of support for Mike Smith. He is a longtime advocate and friend to first responders across the state.

Smith has been battling COVID-19 in the hospital since last Friday, so first responders wanted to show him how much he means to them.

"He's got a big heart. He loves police, fire and EMS and I'm sure it made his day to see all those people that he loves driving past through for him,” Kenneth Freeman with Bartlesville Ambulance services said.

Organizers said about 50 emergency vehicles showed up and that there would have been many more if time allowed.
