The Tulsa Golden Hurricane hits the road this weekend to square off against Navy.

Zach Smith will be back under center for the Hurricane which will be an advantage. Stopping the triple option will be no easy feat.

Tulsa is currently tied atop the AAC standings with number seven Cincinnati. Saturday, the Hurricane face the tall task of stopping an offense they rarely see: the triple option.

"When you look at that them offensively and all the things they are doing, plus you add the next factor into it where they have thrown the ball quite a bit more throughout the year,” Head Coach Philip Montgomery said. “You have to prepare for both of those things."

The Midshipmen have won the last five meetings with TU, but the extra time off has given Philip Montgomery and his coach staff a leg up on breaking down film.

"We did get a couple of extra days obviously, I think that will help,” Montgomery said. “It’s still difficult with Navy on both sides of the football, honestly in all three phases."

A showdown with the Bearcats looms in 11 days, but TU isn't looking ahead to that matchup, focused instead on taking care of Navy.

"Obviously we put ourselves in the driver’s seat with some things, this game right now is the most important thing on our plate,” Montgomery said.
