EDMOND, Okla. -

The Wagoner Bulldogs left no doubt after defeating the Clinton Red Tornadoes 42-13 on Saturday in Edmond.

It was all Wagoner from start to finish. The Bulldogs scored 28 first-half points and stifled the Red Tornadoes’ offense.

“The energy in the locker room was amazing,” Wagoner quarterback Sawyer Jones said. “We came out here. We brought it out here. The fans were great. Our team was great. We just put the ball in the endzone.”

The team didn’t let up in the second half, adding two more scores. Now, the gold ball belongs to the Bulldogs.

“Let’s go play the way we’re capable of playing and let’s show these people how good we really are,” Wagoner coach Dale Condict said.

For Wagoner’s 24 seniors, this was their first title. Ten of the 11 starters on defense didn’t allow Clinton any chance of entering the end zone, limiting them to just 13 points and under 200 yards of total offense.

Wagoner running back Brayden Drake logged 247 yards on the ground and scored two touchdowns. Drake’s longest touchdown came from 40 yards out.

Drake also eclipsed the 2,000-yard mark for his career.

“I feel like I just won a million dollars,” Drake said.
