An Oklahoma diagnostic lab has temporarily stopped drive-thru COVID-19 testing sites across the state.
IMMY Labs has been conducting testing throughout the state for several months, but it stopped after their contract expired with the state health department.
The Norman-based company said their contract expired with the state on December 31, but they're finalizing a contract to renew it.
CARES act funding has allowed the company to offer drive thru PCR testing at sites across Oklahoma, with results in two business days. Oklahomans were able to schedule appointments online, and then be informed of testing sites close to them.
Right now, the website has a banner that says, "We are continuing to discuss more drive-thru testing opportunities in January with the Oklahoma State Department of Health. We are optimistic that more appointment times will be available in the next day or two."
In the meantime, the state of Oklahoma with the help of local health departments, are conducting other free testing sites.
You can find testing sites here.
