Top-Ranked Alabama Routs Ohio State To Win National Title

#1 seed Alabama, after a closely-matched start, routed #3 Ohio State to win their seventh national title under head coach Nick Saban, 52-24.

Alabama, who entered the game 12-0, was led through the game by recently-declared Heisman winner DeVonta Smith with three first half touchdowns. Smith would get injured in the second half, but Alabama was well ahead.
