The Golden Hurricane on the road in Temple Tuesday afternoon had a hard-fought battle, but never led in the game.

Temple’s largest lead was 22 and Tulsa chipped it down to seven, but ultimately fell to the Owls, 76-67.

Senior Elijah Joiner tried to lead the comeback and Tulsa never let up, managing the game clock well late in the game to give themselves as many opportunities as they could.

Shots simply would not fall for the Golden Hurricane Tuesday afternoon, shooting just 40% from the field and only 33% from the three, especially compared to 51% from the field for Temple.

Junior Rey Idowu led in the points column, putting up 20 points, four rebounds and three assists. Joiner had 15 points and Brandon Rachal had 12 before fouling out with just a few minutes left in the game.

Tulsa now drops to 8-6 on the season and 5-4 in the American conference.
