Tulsa Public Schools is putting the future in focus for some of its students with a new program that combines high school with college.
TPS said McLain High School and Memorial High School will launch the “Early College High School Program” in the 2021-2022 school year.
The program will give students the chance to complete their associate's degree from Tulsa Community College, for free, while they earn their high school diploma.
TPS said all current eighth-graders in the district are eligible for the program, but must apply to attend McLain or Memorial.
Applications for the program are due February 12.
This weekend, TPS will host a workshop where students can learn more about the program and get one-on-one help with their application, which includes a "writers workshop" for the essay portion.
The workshop is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Monroe Demonstration Academy which is located at 2010 East 48th Street North.
Students can sign up for the workshop online by Clicking Here.
