The United States Postal Service announced that it would be replacing its fleet of more than 230,000 vehicles many of which are up to 30-years-old.
The Wisconsin-based company "Oshkosh Defense" won the bid to launch the multi-billion-dollar modernization.
The new environmentally-friendly fleet will include the latest safety technology and officials are calling it "the most dramatic modernization of the USPS fleet in three decades."
The first of the "new generation" mail carriers are expected to hit the road by 2023.
