Tulsa Couple, Realtor To Be Featured On HGTV's 'House Hunters'

A Green Country couple will set out with their realtor on Thursday night on National TV to find the perfect house.

HGTV will feature the couple on Thursday night’s episode of House Hunters, a show which follows homebuyers throughout the process of their search for a house.

Claire and Barkley Wilson are a newly married couple from Tulsa, who had been renting a place downtown.

Claire is a big fan of HGTV and said she applied for the show on a whim when they started looking to buy their first home. She said they could not believe it when they found out they had been picked for the show.

“I think I was super, super excited and Barkley was both excited and terrified,” Claire said laughing.

Both said it is special to have their first-time home-buying experience documented in such a unique way.

"My memory of the experience was just a lot of fun, so hopefully that comes through in the episode," said Barkley.

"By having this experience, we're gonna be able to look back on it... looking for our first house together and have that documented, so I think we're both kind of excited to walk down memory lane to an extent," Claire added.

The couple focused their search in the Tulsa and Jenks area.

Their Keller Williams realtor, JoAnna Wallis, said low-interest rates, combined with the price of lumber have more people buying houses instead of building.

“The market has never been better. It's never been a better time to sell, a better time to buy,” Wallis said. “Before we can get you in to see a house, they usually have multiple offers on them already.”

The couple looked at three houses for the show. And Wallis delivered, although the couple said the final decision was tough, they could not be happier with the house they bought.

HGTV's House Hunters airs in Tulsa Thursday night at 9:00 p.m.
