ORU Campus Bookstore Sees Increase In Sales Ahead Of Sweet 16

The manager of the ORU campus bookstore said shirts and other apparel have been popular items as the men’s basketball team continues through the NCAA tournament.

Debbie Haymaker is the manager of the store and said for this time of the year it is typical to be selling items related to graduation. With the team advancing to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament, she said they have already re-ordered many shirts this week.

Haymaker said the store usually handles about five orders on any given day but has taken nearly 600 at one point this week.

“It has been amazing,” said Haymaker. “We have orders from all over the country as well as orders from different countries.”

There will be a watch party at the Mabee Center for Saturday’s game against Arkansas. The game tips off at 6:25 p.m. and will be played in Indianapolis.

The game will be nationally televised. Doors to the Mabee Center for the watch party will open prior to tip off.
