Part of a road construction project in Jenks will be wrapping up soon.

The project has been going on since last summer at 111th and Elwood where the intersection has been shut down, but it’s expected to be back open this spring.

111th Street from Highway 75 to Elwood Avenue is being widened to three lanes with a curb and gutter.

The 111th Street and Elwood intersection will have three lanes each direction each having a left turn lane, a right turn lane, and a middle lane.

Storm sewer is being constructed under the roadway and designed to accommodate future widening of up to five lanes.

The Coal Creek bridge is being widened to four lanes and includes a sidewalk on one side of the bridge and a trail on 111th street that ties into the existing trail east of Elwood Avenue.

Construction is expected to be completed late in 2021.
