A 106-year-old Tulsa Race Massacre survivor issued a cease and desist order to the Race Massacre Centennial Commission for using her name and likeness to promote its projects without her consent.

Lessie Benningfield Randle said she is not involved with the Commission’s work, even though leaders have said they are dedicating their work to her.

Randle said this creates the impression that the Commission supports her efforts toward justice and reparations for race massacre victims, which she claims it does not.

Commission leaders said they have no response to the order.
