Tulsa Police arrested a man accused of robbing a woman of her purse, then using her ID to track her down at her home and rob her again.

News On 6 first reported the case last week when police said the suspect, Victor Clark, also tried to sexually assault her.

Detectives said someone saw that story, recognized the man in the surveillance pictures by his giraffe shirt, then called Crimestoppers.

Detectives said Victor Clark first robbed the woman at work in January. An arrest affidavit said Clark pointed a gun at the woman, told her to open the cash register, then stole the woman's purse and left.

Detectives believe the suspect used the woman's stolen ID to figure out where she lived.

Documents said Clark forced his way into the woman's home with a gun as she was getting home from work last month. Documents said Clark didn’t sexually assault her but did rob her. Police said days after News On 6 ran surveillance pictures of the suspect, he was identified and arrested.

"The tips are huge,” said Justin Ritter with the Tulsa Police Robbery Unit. “I mean, we are more effective if the public helps us out. We do an excellent job solving our cases but when the public helps us out, it makes it that much faster and we are able to get the suspect off the streets."

Records show Clark has spent time in prison since 1996 for drugs, assaulting a police officer, and running from police.
