Tulsa seniors are walking across the graduation stage this week.
Each high school is holding a graduation ceremony outside. Wednesday, families said they are thankful to be able to watch their loved ones gradate in person.
“I was hoping for a drive-thru, but this works, too," said Shann Hylton. “I just didn’t want to be nervous going on the stage.”
More than 200 seniors left Will Rogers High School for the last time Wednesday. This time they're leaving with a smile on their faces and a diploma in hand.
“It felt amazing to know that I did it. I finally made it and came a long way," said Hylton.
It's a day for the graduates to celebrate, but also for their families to celebrate as well.
“I think that it’s pretty awesome for him just because he got to get that experience because a lot of people didn’t, especially last year. It was really, really hurtful for kids and it was really sad. I had cousins you know that didn’t get to graduate so this year it means more than it did any other year," said Crystal Green.
Green attended the graduation ceremony to support her cousin who graduated Wednesday.
She said it was tough when graduates couldn't walk the stage last year and it's great to see it happen this year.
“It’s the final step of you know your young life and now you’re having to step and try to be grown. That’s the biggest step is just graduating and then having to start a new chapter of your life," said Green.
