Blue Cross Blue Shield Hosts Wellness Event To Answer Health Insurance Questions

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma is hosting a wellness event to answer questions about health insurance coverage.

They’re hoping to reach people in the community who live near Pine and Peoria and tell them about the importance of health care.

The event was at the Hutcherson YMCA to talk about existing health coverage plans and answer questions about insurance in general.

BlueCross BlueShield said some people may not even know they qualify for low insurance premiums. They say being at Hutcherson is part of their efforts to help minorities get access to quality, affordable health care. 

“A lot of the hang-ups with people getting health insurance is just not knowing what to ask, not knowing the ins and outs about insurance, because insurance sometimes is confusing," said Christian Gray with BlueCross BlueShield. 

Thursday’s event also had giveaways and a raffle for a gift card to the new Oasis Fresh Market.

BlueCross BlueShield will also be at the Black Health Counts Juneteenth event on Saturday. You can learn more about that event here.
