Oklahoma Highway Patrol's Marine Division says a 36-year-old man is dead after drowning in Lake Tenkiller in Cherokee County on Sunday afternoon.

OHP Troopers say Clifton Youngblood from Muskogee jumped off of a boat into the lake near Burnt Cabin Bluffs.

Witnesses told OHP that shortly after his jump, he began to struggle, went underwater and never came back up.

The "Cherokee Nation Marshall Dive Team" used "side-scan sonar" to locate the victim.
