A family is grieving the death of their mother tonight. Buffie Raulston was stabbed nine times by a man in Bartlesville last month.
The oldest daughter, Makayla Raulston, tells News on 6 her mother fought to stay alive for weeks in the hospital, before passing away Thursday night, at just 38 years old.
"It’s hard knowing that we're not going to have a mom to call tomorrow or the day after that, or the day after that," Makayla said.
Makayla said she and her three teenage siblings never thought they would have to say goodbye to their mom so soon.
"I feel lost. I feel so empty not knowing how all my other siblings are going to be able to cope with this, and how I’m not going to be able to call my mom tomorrow and tell her I love her," Makayla said.
Makayla didn't want her mom's face shown but said her mom gave to everyone she could. She loved to sing and loved her family.
"When it came to other people, she was so selfless," Makayla said.
Last month, police said they found Buffie lying in a pool of blood at the Skyline Motel in Bartlesville.

"It broke my heart, I can't imagine what my mom must have felt," Makayla said.
Officers arrested 29-year-old Koalton Ellis, and said they have surveillance video showing Ellis stabbing Buffie nine times. Maykala said Buffie and Ellis were friends and wants to know why he did it.

"If I could say anything, I would ask him why he did it,” Makayla said. “Why stab somebody nine times and not only hurt her but hurt her entire family? What's worth taking a mother away from her four children?"
Ellis is being held in the Washington County Jail. Police said they're asking the district attorney to charge Ellis with murder.
