Oklahoma State Football fans are getting ready for the Cowboys home game opener on Saturday but there is more than just tailgating in Stillwater this weekend.
It’s the season for football in Oklahoma.
Health workers are prepping to meet fans at the game this weekend at Boone Pickens Stadium and they aren't just there to cheer on the Cowboys.
OSU Med is setting up a vaccine site from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. this Saturday near Hall of Fame Avenue. You will see the white tents and OSU Med bus.
"I think some of the excuses you might hear are convenience or access and so we are really trying to bridge that gap by kind of meeting the people where they are at," said Barrett Hunter with Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.
Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available. You do need a photo ID and insurance card, but the vaccine is free.
"Come by our site, we will give you a shot, we have a raffle for Bedlam game tickets. If you are an OSU student you can enter, there are iPads, Cade Cunningham signed basketballs," said Hunter.
It’s important, if you are planning on getting a vaccination at this weekend's game make sure you stop by the vaccination site before you start tailgating.
The plan is to have vaccination sites at several home games this fall. Dates beyond this weekend haven't been finalized yet.
"We are just looking for activities, some fun and supporting our community," said Jared Droze with Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.
