Tulsa police say 28-year-old Garrett Barlow is in jail accused of stabbing his father four times Wednesday night.
TPD told News On 6 that it all started around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when officers were called by the 64-year-old victim to a house near 4th and Jamestown.
Officers say they immediately found the victim who told them his son had been living with him after he got out of jail last week. The victim told police that Barlow had held a knife to his face earlier in the evening and then stabbed him once in the face and three times in the arm. Police say his injuries were not life-threatening.
According to TPD, when they found the suspect inside the home, he appeared to be unconscious and was being guarded by a large pit Bull. A TPD K-9 officer was brought in to control the situation so police could wake the suspect. TPD said they were able to arrest the suspect who appeared to be slightly intoxicated.
Police say both Barlow and his father are tribal citizens and the stabbing happened in Muscogee Creek Nation. Barlow was booked into the Tulsa County Jail for a federal charge under the McGirt ruling.
