Final Design Chosen For New Quarter Honoring Wilma Mankiller

The U.S. Mint has made a decision on a new quarter design to honor Wilma Mankiller.

Mankiller was the first woman to serve as principal chief of the Cherokee Nation.

The design was selected from three finalists. The coin will be minted starting next year as a part of the American Women Quarters program.
