Gathering Place Hosting Several Events, Classes For Spring

If you want to soak up the warmer weather, spring programming is kicking off at Gathering Place.

"As the weather warms up at Gathering Place, we really like to celebrate and bring the community together with a lot of different opportunities to engage at the park and get out in nature,” said Director of Education and Programming Sarah Van Zandt.

There's something for everyone and a chance to stay healthy and work out while being outdoors.

On Saturday, you can kick off the spring season with an event featuring camping classics, Outdoor Adventures.

Van Zandt says to expect food trucks, lawn games, scavenger hunts, and a country music concert.  

"This is a celebration of all things outdoor-living and recreation. We will do catch and release fishing for the first time, we've never offered that at the park,” Van Zandt said.

There will be free barre classes every Tuesday and free yoga classes every Thursday this month and next.

"We really like to focus on health and wellness programming because it's just a chance for the community to get out and move in a supportive environment, a community-oriented environment,” Van Zandt said.

Every Wednesday, you can learn some street hockey tips and tricks from the Tulsa Oilers at Skills and Drills.

"Spring is our busiest time of year at the park. It's beautiful weather, the wildflowers start blooming, everything starts greening up and it's a beautiful time to join the park,” Van Zandt said.
