Fort Gibson Police Officer Austin Hughart and other officers had just finished a twelve-hour shift when they got the call that a man needed help with his yard.

Officers mowed his front and backyards, and used a blower to clean up the front porch and sidewalk.

"It's really the town. They embrace us and we embrace them right back," Hughart said. "In our small little town, they have always supported us, they have always backed us. It's just great to work in such a small town and have the support that we do."

Hughart also said his duties to the town go beyond protecting and serving.
