Cherokee Nation Approves Largest Budget In Tribal History

Cherokee Nation Councilors have approve the largest annual budget in the tribe's history.

The $3.5 billion dollar proposal includes money to triple the budget and staffing of the Cherokee Marshal Service.

Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. says the money will also be used to expand the tribe's ability to hold criminals, so they aren't forced to temporarily release some convicted criminals.
