Oral Robert University’s newly renovated Fenimore and Fisher Graduate School of Business features new classrooms and labs for students to get a leg up.

Inside is a trading floor, similar to what you would see at a stock exchange, where students will make real investments with their money. The 40,000-square-foot renovation was made possible by Alumni Terry Fisher and Richard Fenimore. Now, their names are branded in the College of Business Program title.

"Terry and I decided 'What can we do for Oral Roberts University as a way to pay them back for all the blessings that we've gotten through our relationships that were cultivated here on campus,'” Fenimore said.

Part of the renovations included hallway expansions, additional conference and meeting rooms, and glass window enclosures that run from the floor to the ceiling. Fenimore says it's a major upgrade from what it used to be.

"You didn't even really know where you were on the 3rd floor. You'd walk in this area and no one knew it was the college of business unless you asked someone,” Fenimore said.

Seniors and Graduate students can use The Capital Trading Floor, and Fisher says ORU plans to offer 10-15 scholarships for the program each year.

"I think we all know that you don’t get somewhere by yourself. Somebody helped you along the way. As you get older you kind of find out you have a lot to be thankful for, but you also have gratitude for those that helped you,” Fisher said.

Fenimore says this will set graduates up for success after college by implementing real-world exposure to financial investments while learning.

"What we are trying to do is allow our students to exceed other graduates to position themselves for the best job opportunities in the marketplace,” Fenimore said.

ORU has more construction and renovations going on across campus. The next expected updates are renovations to the school’s library and Phase 2 of the College of Business faculty offices.
